We asked 13 Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS) skeptics from different backgrounds, professions, and skill levels to take Shock Therapy Fitness sessions 2 times a week for 8 weeks and record their results. NEW YORKERS DON’T GIVE UP

In classic New Yorker style, our participants were doubtful they could see significant improvements in such a short period of time. But we’re New Yorkers too, and we don’t give up easily. Using pre- and post-study endurance tests and a body composition analyzer device, we were able to measure body toning, strength, endurance, mobility, stability and mood. As we expected, everyone saw “shocking” results.

The Participants

Alexandra

Alexandra is a 42-year-old entrepreneur and busy mom who wanted to strengthen and tone her body. After 8 weeks, she lost nearly 5 inches in her waist, 3.5 inches from each thigh, and 1 inch from each arm.

Bar is a 36-year-old performance coach with the New York Knicks. After a recent quad injury, he was looking for a low-impact way to supplement his strength training. He saw an improvement in performance (his deadlift increased by 30 pounds!) and muscle mass.

Julia is a real estate executive in her mid-30s who was looking for a new, consistent way to work out. She lost 10 pounds, improved her plank hold by more than 1 minute, and increased her curl up by 50 reps.

JIMMY

Jimmy is an actor and comedian who was having trouble fitting workouts into his busy schedule. He wanted to lose weight, build muscle, and improve his mood. He lost 15 pounds of fat, gained 3.4 pounds of muscle, and doubled his plank hold time.
